ADA COMPLIANCE ACT

ADA Compliant Laws relating to Disabled Car :Lot SIgnage and Painting of Handicap Parking BaysTitle III of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) details the responsibility placed on the owners of  publicly accessible venues to be accessible by people with disabilities.

Property Managers and car lot owners need to take particular note of the laws. These laws apply irrespective of property size and in the case of car lot managers/ owners, the correct number of adequately signed and handicapped-accessible parking stalls must be available with the required number of van parking spaces.

Failure to be ADA compliant with pavement markings, signage, ramp requirements etc. can leave you liable for fines and penalties and possibly law suits.

As a responsible Property Manager / car lot owner you will obviously want to comply not just because of regulation but because it shows your customers, particularly those with disabilities, that you care about them.

We have reproduced the basic ADA Compliance Regulations, which can be downloaded from our site by clicking on the leaflet icon on the right. ( You can also visit www.ada.gov for more information)

If you have any questions please complete our inquiry form and we shall get back to you as soon as possible.

The ADA also requires that locations must have enough accessible parking spots. This table shows how many accessible spaces are needed.
